Eastbound and down, loaded up and truckin'...

Post number TWO! So Sadie's older brother, Hamish, arrived and we began our trio-road trip two days later. Since he's only in NZ for a short time we made a break for all of the south island; we started in Christchurch and worked our way down to Queenstown, Te Anua, Milford Sound, Alexandra, back to Queenstown (to bungy jump), and Wanaka, before heading up the west coast.

Freedom is ours!  The Road Trip Trio is off.

Nothin better than an open road!

Moody (the rental car), liked checking out the sights too!

 Pretty girl, pretty view!
(We'd never seen such blue lakes!)

We enjoyed chilling for a day in Queenstown!

Queenstown in the extreme sports caipal of the world

Not only did we drive, eat, and sleep in Moody but we also hung our laundry in him!

we may have found an unlocked door ... and we may have taken a shower in the 'gents' changing room in a random high school... just, maybe...

 ...it speaks for itself!

 Packing up our 'living quarters'...

Emily got to feed a yound lamb in Te Anua

The kind couple (Fiona and John) that opened their home to us for a night in Te Anua
... In our defense, it was very early!...

 Milford Sound was breath-taking

Some of the things we do cannot be explained... this one included!

For some reason Emily is convinced Saide is addicted to coffee... I can't understand why though!

 Motor'n!!
(One of NZ's flightly bird species)

This may have been a restricted bridge under construction... but it had the best view!

 PRAISE BE TO GOD!

 "I'm neeking... I'm neeking..."
(neeking means sneaking)

Road-trip-tio checking out another wonderful waterfall

This is how we resolve fights... you don't want to see what comes next in the series of pictures!

another think NZ is full of.... Asians...so many cameras...

 "I love you, Jesus!"

Please not how small Hamish looks in the left hand corner in black and blue...

Please also note that the sticker reads, "Keep left!"...

Explore giant clock on huge hill in Alexandra...Check!

Picnic in 'Rohan' from Lord of the Rings...Check!

 "So, where from here?..."

The remaining evidence that 'Rohan' ever existed...

Clearly impressed with Anna-Marie's strength and determination to piggy-back Hamish!
(Anna-Marie was our lovely hostess in Alexandra)

 BUNGY JUMP TAGGING!

Before the jump... our faces couldn't handle our terror...obviously!

 "Cuz I'm free...free fallin!"

 Together, we can do it!
The siblings celebrate

 ...Just a little closer...

Just to give you an idea how deep the canyon was...

 Queenstown was incredible!

 Hamish showing off some skill!

The trees in Wanaka were so inviting, we just had to climb them!

John, Jill and Jill's brother had us over a cup of tea while in Wanaka... they were so amazing!

Another epic roadside waterfall!
(the rocks are wet because it's pouring rain... no wonder they call it a rain forest)

Well, as the photo's show we've had some amazing times on our roadtrip! Currently we're hanging out in Nelson again with Nick and Bonnie but will be pushing off tomorrow to end our trip where we began, Christchurch...

Much love and affection!

South and North and South Again!

Hello all,

Sorry it's been soo long!!!  We have not had steady internet access and have been on the road for the last 12 days.  We'll try to catch you all up to speed in two posts though.

So, just so you can follow our very confusing travel route...
These photos start when we were still in Nelson with Nick and Bonnie.  We then took the ferry back to the north island and bussed from Wellington back to Auckland.  We split up for a couple days (Emily back to Coromandel to visit Les and Linda while Sadie stayed in Auckland), then met up to fly back down to Christchurch for a few days.  Enjoy the photos!

While in Nelson, Bonnie showed Emily the "correct way" to eat Tim Tams

The ferry boat ride, so cold!

Enjoying two of our favorite pass times on the ferry - coffee and journaling

Bonnie sent some pumpkin pie with us though!
Happy Thanksgiving!
(actually, we spent all of Thanksgiving on a bus, which wasn't so fun)

 Sunset from the ferry!

Omaha Beach: Larryn took us for a lovely day trip up the coast

Once again, we can't help but do hand stands on the beach!

Bev, Larryn's friend, also joined us on our fun adventure

and we went to the U2 CONCERT!
It was pretty awesome!

Jay-Z opened though... not our favorite, to say the least

the next day, Emily had another new expereince...
she got her first tattoo
(note the nervous smile)

 Go big or go home!
On the ribs, Emily had to distract herself with National Geogaphic
 Back to the Coromandel Penninsula
Les took Emily on a nice drive and they ended up visiting a famous pottery workshop
 sweet Pahewekawa tree
(the Kiwis call them Christmas trees because they bloom bright red flowers during the holidays)

 Pavlova!  Another Kiwi classic.

Les brought us homegrown roses at the airport!  So sweet!

Laura (in black - our sweet friend and hostess in Christchurch)
took us on a roadtrip too!

Hamish (Sadie's borther) arrived, just in time to celebrate Emily's birthday!

 Making waffles called Woodles...

because they were shaped like penguins!  How cool is that!

Well, that's about it for our Nelson, Auckland, Christchurch adventures.  Stay tuned for our road trip adventures soon to come!

Blessings!
Emily and Sadie
